A short guide to Christmas lofi
What is Christmas lofi?
Christmas lofi is slow, warm, dusty-sounding instrumental hip-hop with a wintry feel: soft keys, muted drums, a bit of tape hiss and the hush of snow. It’s holiday music for background listening rather than singing along.
Here it’s all original music by Purrple Cat, with Ice Palace and Snowbound as the two Christmas albums.
Christmas lofi for studying in December
Exam season and the holidays land on the same weeks. Put on Snowed in or Ice Palace, set the window to “Always clear” and let the sets run; each one is about half an hour, which is a good length for one focused block.
Christmas lofi for a holiday livestream
Everything here is free to play on stream with the credit line, and the Self Releases have no Content ID, so VODs stay clean. Market walk is good for chatting, By the fire for the end of the night. Download the M3U8 for your playlist software.
Christmas lofi for a cozy fireplace night
Lights low, something warm in a mug and By the fire on. It’s the slowest set on the site and drifts down to almost nothing by the last track.
Christmas lofi without the jingle bells
If you love December but not the twentieth replay of the same carols, this is the quiet version: no sleigh bells, no covers, no vocals. It still feels like the season, just through a frosted window.

FAQ
Is this Christmas lofi really free to use?
Yes. Every track is by Purrple Cat and free under CC BY 4.0. Use it in videos, livestreams, podcasts, games, shops and on all social media, as long as you credit: “Music: Purrple Cat (purrplecat.com), licensed under CC BY 4.0”.
Can I use it on YouTube or Twitch without a copyright claim?
Yes. The music on this site is Purrple Cat’s own Self Releases, and Self Releases have no Content ID. Just add the credit line to your description.
Can I upload these songs to Spotify, Apple Music or other streaming services?
No. The music must never be uploaded or released on music streaming services, and that includes remixes, samples and covers of it. Everywhere else is fine with credit.
Why does the music sound muffled?
You’re hearing it through the frosted glass. Wipe the window with your cursor or finger and it gets clearer; leave it and the frost slowly grows back. The player bar, “Always clear” and “Wipe the window” all give you full quality.
Is the music locked until Christmas?
No. All twelve panes, Snowbound and every set play every day of the year. From December 13 to December 24 one pane thaws each day, but that’s just decoration and a reason to come back.
Are there Christmas carols here?
No. Every track is an original instrumental by Purrple Cat: cozy, wintry lofi without the jingle bells.
Can I download the tracks?
Yes. Every track on the player has an MP3 link, and each set has an M3U8 playlist file you can open in VLC or any media player.
